02

Terms of use

These are the same terms shown inside the app under Settings › Legal.

Hirsla is provided as it is, without any warranty. It is built to keep your library safe, with copies before every update and an export you can keep yourself, but no software can promise that data is never lost. You are responsible for keeping your own backups: export your library regularly and keep iCloud turned on.

To the extent permitted by Swiss law, the developer is not liable for any loss of data, lost profit, or direct or indirect damage that comes from using or not being able to use Hirsla, including what the on-device AI writes. Summaries, titles, facts and answers can be wrong: check anything important.

Apple’s standard licence for apps from the App Store also applies. These terms are governed by Swiss law.

Card packs are bought through Apple, so refunds are Apple’s to give. Your cards are yours: nothing here gives me a claim on what you save, and Export everything means you are never dependent on me to get it back.

You are responsible for what you save and share, and for having the right to do so.

03

Privacy

What stays on your iPhone or iPad and what leaves it is written out in full on the privacy page.

04

Built with

Hirsla is a native app built on Apple’s own frameworks: SwiftUI, SwiftData, CloudKit, the Foundation Models on-device AI, Vision, Speech, PencilKit, MapKit and StoreKit. It uses no third-party libraries and no advertising or analytics SDKs, which is why there is no list of other people’s code to acknowledge here.

Geist, by Vercel, and Instrument Serif, by Instrument, are used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1, in the app and on this website.

05

Trademarks

Apple, iPhone, iPad, Apple Pencil, Apple Watch, Apple Intelligence, Apple Maps, iCloud, App Store and TestFlight are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. Hirsla is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc.

Other product and company names mentioned may be the trademarks of their respective owners.

Niklaus GerberDigital & Platform Executive

Twenty years making digital stick in organisations not built for it.

Vice President Digital at Vorwerk Home, responsible for product, platform, and e-commerce across Europe. Before that, I founded the product function at NZZ.

My work sits where digital ambition meets legacy platforms, many stakeholders, and teams that need a reason to change. At NZZ, we shipped AI audio in 2018, among the first publishers anywhere to do so.

Playground

I build tools when the thinking needs a shape. Lately that means hands-on work with agentic AI. Most start as a fix for my own team and then find a wider audience. Each one tests an idea before I put more weight on it.
