Hirsla Support

Hirsla is a small iPhone app for the things that fall between your other apps: door codes, claim numbers, the restaurant a friend recommended. Share it in, and ask for it later.

It is made by one person, as a side project, so support is me reading my own email. I answer, usually within a few days. There is no ticket system and no bot.

01

Something is wrong

In the app, open Settings › Contact › Report a problem. That writes me an email with a diagnostics report and recent app logs attached. It contains no cards and no notes, it tells me far more than a description can, and you can read it before you send it or delete the attachment.

Settings › Contact › Send feedback is the same thing without the attachment.

If the app will not open at all, write to me directly and say which iPhone or iPad and which version of iOS or iPadOS you are on.

This page is also linked in the app, under Settings › Contact › Support.

02

I bought room and it is gone

This is the most common one, usually after a new iPhone or a reinstall.

Room is tied to your Apple ID, not to an account with me. Open Hirsla on the new iPhone, signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with. It reads your purchase history and adds the packs up again by itself. Settings shows when the packs were last checked with the App Store.

If it does not come back, write to me with the date of the purchase and I will sort it out.

03

Getting your cards out

Settings › Your data › Export everything writes the whole library to a zip file: a folder per type, one Markdown file per card named by its date and title, with the original photo, PDF, or recording beside it, and an overview of every card. It opens in anything, including Markdown apps like Obsidian, and it is never behind a purchase.

Do this before you change phones if you have sync switched off.

04

I deleted a card by mistake

Settings › Your data › Recently deleted keeps deleted cards for 30 days. Swipe a card to the right to put it back where it was, with its date and its pin, or put them all back at once.

After 30 days they are gone for good, from your devices and from iCloud.

If whole cards seem to be missing rather than one you deleted, Settings › Your data › Backups has Restore Missing Cards, which reads a backup and only adds back what is not already in your library. It never overwrites anything.

05

My cards have shorter titles than I expected

The full cards, with written titles, summaries, and Ask answers, need Apple Intelligence, which needs an iPhone 15 Pro or newer, or an iPad with M1 or A17 Pro or newer, with it switched on in Settings › Apple Intelligence & Siri.

Without it, Hirsla still saves, finds, and keeps everything. Titles and summaries are simpler, and Ask shows you the best cards with the sentence that answers instead of writing an answer. If Apple Intelligence arrives later on that device, the cards are quietly read again in full.

06

What happens at 100 cards

The first 100 cards are read in full. Past that, saving carries on exactly as before: the card is kept whole, it opens as usual, and you find it by its own words. It waits to be read, and Hirsla reads it the moment there is room, oldest first.

Room comes from a pack, or from deleting a card you no longer want. Packs run from +100 to +5,000, you can buy them as often as you like, they add up, and they do not expire.

A pack given to you as an App Store offer code counts like a bought one. Redeem it in Settings › More room, under the packs.

07

What you need

An iPhone with iOS 26 or an iPad with iPadOS 26. Hirsla runs natively on both, and on iPhone Duo. There is no Mac or Android version. Best with Apple Intelligence, on an iPhone 15 Pro, or an iPad with M1 or A17 Pro, or newer.

There is an Apple Watch app for recording voice memos, and widgets for the Lock Screen and Control Centre.
